Ruth and I have been holidaying around New Zealand and spent some time in Turangi, at the southern end of Lake Taupo, with her family. We walked around Rotopounamu, ate fresh smoked trout and relaxed. I went whitewater rafting and walked the Tongariro crossing. Here are a few drawings from the trip.

Ruth’s cousin’s sunglasses and driving to start the crossing.

Looking east from emerald lakes, our lunch stop on the crossing. There is geothermal steam in the foreground.

Many people underestimated the difficulty of the walk and power of the New Zealand sun. They all looked stuffed at the end. The shirtless guy on the left was red with sunburn.

I’ve posted some photographs of our trip to Instagram. You can follow me here.
