Founded as a service town for British and American military bases nearby, Holland village in Singapore is now an expat hangout.
There is an amusingly misplaced windmill above a shopping mall – the village’s name has nothing to do with the country but refers to an early architect who designed many of the original buildings.
I made these drawings with David Liew, a member of urban sketchers Singapore who grew up in the village.
